My Favorites

📝 Article — Regardless of whether this topic makes you paranoid or not, you must read it if you care about Information Security. Quantum computers could (in most cases can) crack today’s encrypted information, that’s a problem of course. But should you be worried about it? That’s what CNET wrote about and summarized what the leading researchers in this area have to say about it.

📚 Book — 2nd year in a row and I am grateful for sticking to my goal of reading one book per week. In total, I’m over 300+, but the goal, of course, is not quantity but reading quality books, and most importantly doing my best to turn what I’ve learned into actions and habits.

🤔 Book Currently Reading — Dare To Lead By Brené Brown.

🤩 Books I Recommend Reading

Human Compatible

Zero to One

by Peter Thiel with Blake Masters by Stuart Russell

🎙 Podcast — In episode 108 of Darknet Diaries, Jack Interviews Marq, a sysAdmin who got arrested for selling privileged access and company sensitive information on the Darknet to spend time with his best friend dying from cancer.

💻 Tech — From a chat I’ve had with a college, using VR for working out is a fun thing. You can do sparing or challenges with a friend and burn those calories you’ve stacked over the holidays.

🎥 Videos — It’s obvious that as customers we tend to believe whatever juicy announcements we see at events such as CES, or any other big industry events. However, it is just part of their strategy to test our reactions, or it’s just that they have too many stretch goals. Check this video by MKBHD, When Tech Companies Lie to Us.

I’ve talked in the past about this topic and how it’s destroying society. Sure, it’s as controversial for some of us as a way of life for others, let me know what do you think about it. Individualism vs Collectivism By House of Ideas.

Living off-grid might be tempting for many, but you might need more skills than just driving to your nearby hardware store or just paying someone to build/fix stuff for you. This video is really inspiring, 9 Months of Building an Off-Grid Home in the Forest.

Quote of the Week

To improve is to change, to perfect is to change often.
